Brittany Guarino – Inspirational Artist of the Month

Shortly after partnering with RAWartists.org I was introduced to the work of Brittany Guarino and it single handedly validated my feelings about the company as a whole. This was a professional artist collective that curates incredibly talented artists from around the world and the inspirational artist, Brittany was the premier example of that fact.

Brittany’s use of acrylic on wood gives a subtle contrast in textures while incorporating fine lines and rich detail to the subject of the piece. She takes her inspiration from nature and seems to have found a muse in birds. Some of her other works are more simplified using a watercolor technique. These pieces remind me of Warhol a bit as they borrow from pop art and use fashion themes and the female form.

Besides being an incredible illustrator and painter, Brittany wears many creative hats. Born in upstate New York, Brittany moved to Savannah, GA to earn her BFA in interior design and illustration. She then went on to work as a graphic designer and marketing coordinator for an architecture firm. Currently Brittany is RAWartists Roaming Showcase Director where she helps curate and produce Raw showcases around the country.

Brittany’s personal goals are to use interior design, illustration, and graphic design to improve the world around her and to inspire others. She wants to continue to evolve and create efficient, beautiful, functional, and sustainable designs wherever she goes. I have been inspired by Brittany’s work as it motivates me to dig deeper into the Raw community and find more talent like hers. Be sure to check out all her designs at her website www.brittanyguarino.com and see what items she has for sale on her Wazala store.
